Update from our Shanghai Remote Learning Centre
It has been 6 months since the launch of our Shanghai Remote Learning Centre on 1 March 2021. So far, we’ve welcomed five intakes of the University of Sydney Foundation Program (USFP) and six intakes of Academic English Preparation (AEP).
More than 60 students have joined us on campus at the Shanghai University of Applied Sciences in the inner city of Shanghai.
Our students benefit from an unparalleled on-campus student experience, including using the facilities of the host university.
In a recent survey, 73% of students agreed that the on-campus experience has had a very positive impact on their learning and living, due to the engagement with classmates and participation in extra-curricular activities.
In addition, we have four outstanding USFP alumni who live on-campus as mentors. They provide great support through entertainment activities and English Corner club, where students can practice English together.
One of our mentors, Reeva, shares her experience:
I would absolutely recommend the Shanghai RLC. It provides students with opportunities to experience campus life under COVID context. Personally speaking, there are countless benefits of studying here. For example, there are common study rooms which remind me of my study life in Sydney and a large-scale library with comfortable seats inside. We have arranged fun activities like outings and water gun activities on campus. Students enjoyed those activities most as they can make friends even though they are taking online courses. They help each other out and study together to get the full advantage of studying on campus.
