What can you expect from online learning?

A student studying in her accommodation

We know what’s on student’s minds – you want flexibility to start online, confidence that our world-class teaching will help you progress to your chosen university, and control of your future career success.

We will help you get to where you want to be. Rather than put your plans on hold, we will support you to start studying online via virtual classrooms, before you transition to completing your program in-centre, in Australia, when borders re-open and we feel it’s safe to recommence face-to-face teaching.

What is a virtual classroom?

In light of the current global situation, your course will be taught in “virtual classrooms” via video conferencing. You will follow the same timetable and be taught by the same teacher as if you were on campus. You will be able to see your classmates, and ask questions as you would in a class, or using the live chat function. In addition to regular timetabled classes, we also host exciting virtual social events, giving you the opportunity to meet your classmates before you arrive on campus.

Supportive community

Our dedicated Student Support Services team are committed to ensuring your health and well-being. You can connect with them via ‘live chat’ at a time that is convenient for you.

Our highly qualified academics know what it takes to achieve success at the University of Sydney. You will receive everything you would expect from our programs whilst knowing that you haven’t had to delay your studies and career ambitions.

Welcoming you to a safe Australia

Australia is working tirelessly to minimise the impact and spread of COVID-19, with great progress already made. We are confident that we will be able to welcome you to our sunny shores very shortly! We can assure you that when the situation allows, we will have information readily available and our Support Services team will be there to help you on your journey to Australia and transition to campus.

Introductory period to try online with confidence

We know that the virtual classroom may not suit everybody, so we’re pleased to let you try virtual learning for 21 days to experience our high quality resources, meet your expert teachers and collaborate with your classmates. If, within 21 days of starting your course, you decide not to continue with your studies online, you can still select to defer your place to a future on-campus intake, or withdraw from your program with a full refund.

Visa refund commitment

As soon as we see it is safely possible, we will support you in transitioning to on-campus learning and you will need to apply for a visa to continue your studies. In the unlikely event that you are unable to obtain a visa we have amended our refund policy to include a number of instances when a refund would be payable.

See our Frequently Asked Questions for more information about our 21-day introductory period and visa refund commitment.
